We are seeking a proactive and organised Estate Services Cleaning Team Leader to lead and work alongside a team of Estate Services Operatives in Tower Hamlets. This role involves hands-on cleaning, team leadership, and ensuring top standards of cleanliness, safety, and maintenance throughout housing estates.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational Responsibilities:
- Perform cleaning duties in all common areas, including stairwells, foyers, courtyards, and refuse storage rooms.
- Carry out deep cleaning, litter removal, and safe disposal of sharps and waste as per Health & Safety standards.
- Assist in the collection and safe disposal of bulk refuse.
- Undertake minor repairs where possible and report larger issues to the Repairs Team for prompt resolution.
- Support winter maintenance by clearing snow and leaves and applying salt to pathways and entrances.
Quality Control:
- Regularly monitor the quality of cleaning and estate services, addressing any issues to maintain a high standard.
- Track and report on machinery, vehicles, and equipment conditions, ensuring all are maintained and fit for purpose.
Team Leadership:
- Provide effective day-to-day leadership and line management for a team of Estate Services Operatives, setting high standards in cleaning and maintenance.
- Ensure the team is responsive, flexible, and delivers an exceptional level of service to residents.
- Oversee caretaking, refuse collection, and minor repair tasks, ensuring a consistent quality of work and compliance with Health & Safety guidelines.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, manage timesheets, and handle conduct issues in line with company policies.
Hours and Weekend Coverage:
- 7-hour shifts between 8am and 6pm, on a rota basis.
- Weekend work required once every four weeks, with time off in lieu.
