Hygiene Supervisor

£14.50 per hour (weekly pay)
Monday-Friday | 3/4pm – 12:30am (8-9 hour shifts)
Premier Recruitment Group is delighted to be partnering with Winterwood Farms Ltd, a leading name in soft fruit packing, to recruit a dedicated Hygiene Supervisor to join their evening operations team.
This is a hands-on, team-focused role that plays a vital part in maintaining the highest hygiene and food safety standards across the facility. If you enjoy leading by example, working closely with people, and making a real impact in a fast-paced environment, this could be your ideal next move.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hygiene Leadership
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules across production areas, staff facilities, storage, and equipment
- Supervise hygiene operatives, providing feedback and coaching to ensure consistent quality
- Support team members by training them on cleaning protocols, chemical handling, and food safety practices
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all hygiene activities meet regulatory standards (BRCGS, HACCP, COSHH, and retailer requirements)
- Conduct hygiene audits and inspections, resolving any issues swiftly
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning tasks, checks, and corrective actions
Health & Safety
- Promote safe working practices and ensure all cleaning activities comply with H&S protocols
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards within hygiene operations
Collaboration
- Liaise with production, technical, and quality teams to integrate hygiene practices seamlessly into daily workflows
- Provide regular updates to management regarding hygiene performance and improvements
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a hygiene or supervisory role within a food production or packhouse setting
- Strong working knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations (e.g., BRCGS, HACCP)
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- High attention to detail with a proactive and solution-focused mindset
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
Desirable:
- HACCP certification or food safety training
- Familiarity with soft fruit or fresh produce environments
- COSHH knowledge and experience in chemical safety
